Note: The opinions expressed herein are solely those of the author. Any resemblance to real librarians (living or dead, or somewhere in between) or real libraries, may be a coincidence - but probably not.

Biblia, the Warrior Librarian, was created by A.B.Credaro. The practice of Warrior Librarianship is common, and therefore quite possibly in the public domain. As such, it is likely to be exempt from any copyright restrictions. However, this does not limit Warrior Librarian Weekly, its agents, employees, heirs, spouses, family pets, or others connected with the zine, from trying to make an easy buck from its use.

All material on this site was written by A.B. Credaro unless otherwize stated. Requests for permission to publish or circulate should be directed to same.

NATIONAL CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK
Should Dr Seuss Apologize?
Seuss
Graphic from Some Website
With hordes preparing to descend on US libraries, librarians need to take a closer look at the life and work of Theodore Geisel. Keep in mind this man killed off Dick, Jane and Spot. Think how much money now gets spent on KiddyLit, when they could be buying you a really nice, comfortable chair for your office ...

PROMOTION & MARKETING
Cereal Librarianship
Warrior Librarian Promotions is about form a partnership with an unnamed breakfast manufacturer. Utilizing well-known popular food products, it is proposed to put little plastic librarians, book trolleys, shelves, and other librarianalia into the packets of maise-based, toasted flakes.

This bold move will raise a generation of children who are comfortable with and in libraries. These policy makers of the future, through their spontaneous library role-play, will grow up to understand the function and importance of librarians ...

WLW RESEARCH COLUMN
Mandatory Reading?
Just how much reading is necessary in our daily lives? Using the search phrase "you've got to read this", Google returns nearly 6,000 hits. SCREAMING MEDIA
Seattle's New Library
Ever wondered how they build a $160 million dollar library? According to SeattlePi.com, it involves budget cuts, staff reductions, shortened opening hours, and less books. Also a $50,000 event organiser. But, by golly, they sure will have a nice building ...

SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION
Would you buy a used conference from someone wearing plastic horns?
The Warrior Librarian led yet another successful workshop at the recent Australian School Library Association (NSW Branch) Annual Conference in Wollongong.

This brings the cumulative total of such appearances to one. During the course of the presentation, the Warrior Librarian revealed that she 'had an inferiority complex, but it wasn't a very good one' ...

FROM THE E-MAIL BOX
Ashleigh Brilliant Writes ...
The world's most quoted author (according to Readers' Digest) - and possibly the most plagiarised - dropped a friendly line to the Warrior Librarian, together with another 2,000 of his closest Australian friends, as shown on his business emailing list. In preparation for Ashleigh's forthcoming visit to Oz, he seeks 'suggestions, advice and invitations'. WLW is wondering if he wants to use our guest room - except we don't have one ...

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
[It was from the school librarian that] I got the idea that librarians were stern and minatory and could enunciate with a velvet fluency the labyrinthine rules which theoretically governed, but mostly rendered impossible, the borrowing of books.
